Possibilities of Genome editing technology

Genome-editing

  1. 01 Possibilities of Genome
    editing technology
  2. 02 CRISPR-Cas3

Living organisms are made up of cells that contain a nucleus. Inside the nucleus is DNA, or the "blueprint of life," which contains genetic information. In human, changes in this DNA may sometimes cause disease, and conversely, if the DNA can be altered precisely and safely, disease can be cured.

What makes this possible is genome editing, and a team led by Dr. Tomoji Mashimo (currently a professor at the Institute of Medical Science, The University of Tokyo) has invented a novel genome editing technology called CRISPR-Cas3.

C4U was founded in 2018 with the aim of contributing to the creation of a prosperous future for the world by making this latest technology, CRISPR-Cas3, accessible to more researchers and industries.

Industrial applications

CRISPR-Cas3 can be applied across a variety of industries, with notable uses in medicine, agriculture, fisheries, and the industrial sector.

The Potential of Genome Editing

As society and the environment undergo drastic changes, the potential of CRISPR-Cas3 to address social issues is immense, and its early integration into society is anticipated.

Therefore, while focusing on medical applications as C4U, we are developing CRISPR-Cas3 as a platform technology and fostering partnerships with numerous research institutes and companies to further expand its possibilities by making it accessible to a wider range of people.
